The Steering Committee of Acorn Center for Restoration and Freedom is the product of three years of working on collective decision making and governance. All of our Steering Committee members have served 1 - 3 years as Wisdom or Legacy Circle members, have voluntarily stepped into these new leadership roles and bring deep expertise in crafting strategies for healing, arts, and spiritual justice. The Steering Committee is intergenerational, 50% identify as Queer or Trans*, and they are bringing in the cultures of the Midwest, North West, and Southern United States. For many of them this is their first time in a public leadership role attached to an organization, and they are committed to leading from our core values of relational economy, restoration, innovation and land stewardship.
